If music could actually spark, Ravid Kahalani and his band Yemen Blues would start wildfires on a regular basis. Coming from a Jewish-Yemeni family, the charismatic singer blends Jewish, Arab-Muslim and West African musical styles with rocking groove, funky horns and soulful soul. "Insaniya" - humanity - is the name of their still current album produced by the great man of bass music, Bill Laswell, with which Yemen Blues once again transcend national, ethnic, religious and musical boundaries. With which the concert is placed on the one hand in the series BOUNDLESS / grenzenlos - music beyond Anglo-Saxon listening habits, on the other hand can be made a further contribution to the Wiesbaden series Tarbut - Time for Jewish Culture.
