The petite Korean, musical multi-talent and internationally acclaimed jazz interpreter, meets the hr-Bigband.
Rarely is the more or less accidental discovery of new possibilities crowned with such success as in the case of Youn Sun Nah. Her professional debut as a singer in the Korean version of the hit German musical "Linie 1" was as unplanned as her European career.
In 1995, the South Korean came to Paris for three years of chanson studies, where she stayed for more than twenty years, immersed herself in jazz and has since risen to become a crossover singing star, winning multiple awards in Germany, France and her old homeland. Songs from folk, jazz, rock and Korea: Youn Sun Nah takes them and appropriates them.
The Swedish arranger and flutist Magnus Lindgren, who already staged the encounters of Ed Motta and Vincent Peirani with the hr-Bigband, provides the jazz-orchestral framework that brings out the shades of Youn Sun Nah's melodious and soulful voice.
