For the seventh time now, Saint Peter is hosting the "Jugendjazztage Frankfurt".
This time under the new direction of Lukas Moriz.
Jazz demands more than other musical genres. The term jazz stands not only for a musical style, but rather for a mixture of traditional, musical "language", a common repertoire. Jazz stands for successful improvisations, which are known to all jazz musicians worldwide.
Two workshops are offered:
If you have no or little experience with jazz, the beginners workshop is the right place. Here you can gain your first experience in improvisation with single notes or the blues scale and get an impression of the different musical styles of jazz, which does not only stand for swing.
First simple jazz standards emerge.

Those who are already a bit more experienced can let off steam in the advanced workshop. In this group we play more complex jazz pieces of hardbop and free jazz, improvise with scales and think about own arrangements for the pieces within the group. Here you have the opportunity to get to know new ways and methods, to improvise and to get creatively involved in the arrangement of the pieces. It is allowed to break previous rules and also try something "crazy".

On Saturday evening you will have the opportunity to play a session together with the professional musicians who lead the workshops.
Then, at the concert on Sunday evening, you can look forward to the presentation of the workshop results, a professional jazz band and a school big band.
The workshops will take place on both days, September 23 and 24, from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
On Saturday evening, the session will open at 7:00 p.m.
On Sunday evening, the concert will begin at 7:00 p.m.
