Yung Hurn has been credited with a lot since his first musical exclamation points. He's (among other things) a punk, a dadaist, an avant-gardist, a style icon, or even: "sick officially"! Of course all that is true. On 04 May "1220", his album debut, will be released. It is - like his first mixtape - dedicated to his home, the Vienna Donaustadt.
Yung Hurn a star against his will. One who refuses the regularities of the hip hop world and for this very reason appeals to artists of all stripes, writers or fashion designers who see in him a Dadaist for the 21st century. The cultural bohemian's Yung Hurn love has even gone so far that Yung Hurn was recently touted in a Gucci suit by fashion bible Vogue. On the other hand, Yung Hurn is equally idolized by thousands of teenagers - they see him as a modern rebel who does all the things they would never dare to do. So Yung Hurn connects people who would never suspect they have anything in common.
Why is that? Perhaps, but only quite possibly, because his hair is as beautiful as that of Karl-Heinz Grasser (former and now repeatedly sued finance minister of Austria), as Y. Hurn himself claims. A certain role might also be played by the fact that although this is an artist who makes virtuoso use of social networks to expand his artistic identity, he nevertheless really reveals very little in the way of private information. Age? Unknown. Relationship status? KA. Requests for interviews are usually declined or countered with the question whether a Ferrari could be rented for the interview, without which it would unfortunately not work. Besides, you still can't be sure: Are all the trashy Insta-posts, the play with his various artist alter egos (like K. Ronaldo or Fiona Swarovski Jr.) and his unpredictable communication strategy (always good for bon mots: Yung Hurn on Twitter, e.g.:" cheeseballs + ja! iced tea + acrylbong + crash bandicot so leben götter") all part of a sophisticated art figure design or yet only capers of a chaotic head, which has the luck that this now and then hits the zeitgeist as perfectly as hardly any other young German-speaking musician?
