Basically, Nika Roza Danilova aka Zola Jesus, an American with Ukrainian roots, makes nothing but flawless pop music.
As a child, she teaches herself to sing opera, and today, thanks to her expressive voice, the now 27-year-old singer enchants the masses with rushing synthesizers and pounding e-drums minimalist soundscapes of noise, wave and gothic sounds.
Among their big influences are "Joy Division" and "The Residents". Aner also Schopenhauer, Nietzsche or Dostojewski are among her influences, which can be clearly heard in the music of her five already released albums.
