Recommending a Chinese-Lao or even Thai restaurant is nothing groundbreaking new, given the perceived 4000 such restaurants in Frankfurt.
The Thai Lao in Fahrgasse 89, however, should indeed not be missed.
The family business has been around for many years and offers Chinese-Thai cuisine at a high level! Not only that there is a whole range of very interesting dishes, but also only very fresh ingredients and herbs are used, all clean and without the nasty sauce monotony, with which otherwise loveless wok crap is whitewashed.
The service is extremely friendly, the boss has her eyes everywhere and makes sure that really top quality goes to the guests and the store runs.
In addition to many delicious appetizers (The summer or spring rolls homemade.the Hammer!!) one rediscovers even simple classics like fried rice with chicken, or fried noodles with beef strips. The BUN dishes, a noodle specialty with vegetables, herbs and optional different meats are great! Delicious also the dim sum, the soups and even banal edamame make your mouth water.
As a drink, the tea made from fresh lemongrass and lime is clearly recommended. No sugar and wonderfully aromatic.
All this at reasonable prices and decent portion sizes! (Dishes also to go)
For sure Thai Lao is one of the best of its kind in Frankfurt!
