Eat like a Wutz at DICKE WUTZ on the Uniongelände

Category: Restaurants

Lovers of smoky barbecue flavors will now get their money's worth at the Uniongelände on Hanauer Landstrasse. A BBQ restaurant has opened there, bringing the tradition of classic American barbecue to Frankfurt. The location exudes the right atmosphere as soon as you enter. No wonder, since the "Dicke Wutz" is modeled on the cult BBQ restaurant "Fette Sau" in New York. And what works in Manhattan must also work in the Main metropolis, right? For us there is a very clear answer: Yes!

During our visit we tried the Texas BBQ Burger, the Wutz Coleslaw Salad and the fried Onion Rings. For refreshment, we opted for the house-made Iced Tea. The meat of the burger from the smoker tasted fresh, tender and well seasoned. The bacon was nicely crisped and the sauteed onions combined with the cheese provided an additional tangy touch. The only thing was that the bun had the right burger consistency but could have used a little more flavour of its own. However, the fact that the bun tasted a little bland was made up for by the delicious BBQ sauce. The Onion Rings were crispy and tasty and the Coleslaw Salad also lived up to expectations. Finally, the Iced Tea tasted sweet and refreshing - absolutely fitting for the spring-like temperatures that prevailed that day.

But that was admittedly only a small sample of the rather rich offer. Whether it's sandwiches like the Philly Cheese Steak, salads like the classic Ceasar Salad, steaks, sides like Sweet Potatoe Fries or grilled corn - here you really feel like you're in a real American BBQ diner. As a customer, you have the choice of being served at the table or ordering at the counter. And there is also a very special service: at some places you can roast your own meat at table grills. This is the perfect BBQ feeling! As for drinks, there are soft drinks and a craft beer selection in addition to the homemade iced tea and homemade lemonade. But wines and hot drinks can also be ordered.

Another great offer is available every Sunday morning. Starting at 10:30 a.m., there's a real American brunch. And it's really something for the whole family, as there's also an extra low counter for the kids. So if you like it hearty and want to enjoy good BBQ in a really nice atmosphere, you should pay the "Dicken Wutz" a visit.
