Frankfurt Airport tours - comeback of the popular excursion destination

Category: Tours

The Frankfurt Airport - the gateway to the world! Most Frankfurt residents have been here at one time or another - whether it's to travel to distant lands, to get a breath of holiday air on the visitors' terrace or to attend one of the many special events. It is one of the region's largest employers and, with 70.5 million passengers in 2019, the fourth busiest airport in Europe. With over 2 million tonnes, Frankfurt Airport also has the largest cargo volume of any European airport and the eighth highest in the world.

However, haven't you ever wondered what it actually takes to keep such a gigantic system running? What steps need to be intertwined to ensure the smoothest possible process for passengers and cargo transport? You can find out all this and much more on one of the exciting and informative tours of the apron of Germany's most important air traffic hub.

After the airport tours could not take place in recent months due to the Corona pandemic, you will finally have the opportunity again from 15 July. July you will finally have the opportunity to experience the unique atmosphere of Frankfurt Airport and the exciting happenings on the apron at close quarters: take-offs, landings, parked aircraft from all over the world and the many small and large processes that take place all around during handling. The

New is the name - and that is also the program: The Comeback Tour takes up many aspects that die-hard airport fans already know. In addition, it also has a lot of new things to offer that have never been experienced before. The tour is - as almost everything is at the moment - under the sign of Corona. There are numerous new regulations that airlines and the airport have to observe and implement, and the tour guides explain them in an exciting and informative way. After all, Frankfurt Airport is of outstanding importance for Germany, especially in the current situation - for example, in the supply of medical goods. Temporarily decommissioned aircraft, packed turbines, tail units previously unknown at FRA - all this makes Frankfurt Airport a completely new setting for a unique excursion experience right now.

The following applies to all tours: With 22 participants per tour, only half of the available seats in the bus are occupied - the minimum distance is thus consistently maintained. Nevertheless, wearing a mouth-nose protection is mandatory during the ride and in the entire airport building. All other infection control requirements of the state of Hesse are also fully complied with.

The first tour departs at 10 a.m. each day, with the last ride at 4 p.m.. Individuals pay 8.28 euros, the reduced price is 6.33 euros. It applies (on presentation of appropriate proof) to children aged four to seven, schoolchildren, trainees, students, senior citizens aged 65 and over, as well as people with a disabled pass and their accompanying person registered on the pass.
The crooked price results from the fixed reduction in VAT, which is of course passed on to visitors as a price advantage.

The airport's visitor terrace will remain closed for the time being.
Until then, a good view can be enjoyed from the three spotter points around the airport.
Information on the wide range of services at Frankfurt Airport can be found by passengers and visitors at travel homepage, in the Service-Shop as well as via the social media channels on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.

For now, the new offering will run on a test basis through the end of August. Seven tours depart daily on Wednesdays through Fridays, and 14 tours each on Saturdays and Sundays. Currently, advance booking is mandatory at
