Dick Soup With Werschtcher

It is here left to one's own taste, for which type of soup one decides. Whether lentil soup, potato soup, bean soup or even pea soup, all variations are possible. The probably most popular "Dick Supp mit Werschtcher" however is without doubt the lentil soup. For a good frankfurter lentil soup you need:

Ingredients

.- 500 g lentils

- 2 leeks

- 2 - 3 carrots (depending on size)

- ½ tuber of celery

- 1 thick onion

- 2 potatoes

- 1 thyme sprig

- 2 l clear meat stock

- 250 g jerky

- 20 g lard

.- Salt and pepper are added to taste for seasoning, as are 1-2 tablespoons of vinegar

- Which "werschtcher" you choose is of course up to you. In a proper "Frankfurter Dick Linsensupp" but of course original "Frankfurter Werschtcher" belong.

Preparation:

First you need to wash the lentils and vegetables. While you are heating the meat broth, you need to cut the vegetables into small cubes. Then, cook the lentils and vegetables in the hot broth until soft. Meanwhile, put the lard in a pan and then fry the jerky in the hot lard. Then add the whole thing to the hot soup and season with salt and pepper to taste. Depending on taste, a dash of vinegar can also be added to enhance the flavour. Finally, add the sausages to the soup, either cut into small pieces or whole, depending on your preference. The whole thing then again briefly boil and ready is the "Linsensupp mit Werschtcher".
