Miss Catharsis is an eclectic all-female band founded by singer-songwriter Shishani. All four musicians have been performing internationally throughout their careers and now have bound their power into this group. Weaving together influences from their upbringing, these women tell mesmerizing stories through an experimental marriage of soul, jazz and indie-rock. ‘Catharsis’ means ‘purification’, ‘cleansing’ or ‘clarification.’ The expression of the feminine, in all her facets, is anchored in their performances. A unique band voicing stories by women of colour, where the personal is political.
