Fantasy and role-playing fans in Germany have been eagerly waiting for this: Pandastorm Pictures presents in cooperation with CinemaxX, UCI Kinowelt and Cinestar "Knights of Badassdom" - the fantasy horror comedy about three nerd friends who accidentally turn a live role-playing game into bloody seriousness. The cast includes stars from successful TV series such as Ryan Kwanten ("True Blood"), Peter Dinklage ("Game of Thrones") and Summer Glau ("Firefly," "Terminator SCC").
59 cinemas in 50 cities in Germany and Austria will be there on August 18 when the long-awaited fantasy horror comedy "Knights of Badassdom" is shown at the main screening. The story surrounding the production and release of "Knights of Badassdom" alone has made the film something of a myth among fantasy and role-playing fans. Three years ago, "Knights of Badassdom" premiered at the legendary international comic book convention "Comic-Con" in San Diego, where the film was enthusiastically received and its stars were the main attractions. However, due to disagreements and unresolved financial issues, the producers fell out and until this year, Comic-Con attendees at the time remained the only audience to ever see the fantasy horror comedy. After a successful US theatrical release, German fans can now look forward to "Knights of Badassdom" on the big screen.
Content: Joe (Ryan Kwanten) has been freshly dumped by his girlfriend and is melting into self-pity and alcohol. But his roommates and LARPers Hung (Peter Dinklage) and Eric (Steve Zahn) have an idea: they pack the drunken Joe into the car and drive to the big live role-playing event "Evermore". There, the three meet attractive role-playing warrior Gwen (Summer Glau). With her help, and a spell book purchased at auction on eBay, Mage Eric and Dwarf Hung plan to revive Joe's role-playing character. But their book actually has magical powers, causing a demon bride from hell to appear. The she-devil looks like Joe's ex-girlfriend and bloodthirstily preys on the roleplayers. The LARPers must band together and prove they're not just wannabe heroes. The - real! - Battle for Evermore begins...
"Knights of Badassdom" is the cinematic event and a must-see for all LARP and fantasy fans as a wacky role-playing parsiflage with plenty of fantasy action and a top-class star cast.
