36 degrees and getting hotter, no venilator, life doesn't seem hard at all sometimes. Or does it? As nice as the summer and light sun is, we crave refreshment or doing nothing when Peter overpowers once again, and jump into the nearest fountain. The rest of us, however, feel just fine the warmer the air outside and bask in the blazing sun in a café. This week we asked four creative Frankfurtians about their preferences and how they spend the summer in beautiful Frankfurt. Sabine Schmitt; shop owner "Applegreen -to wear" in the Nordend.
"I very much like to start my morning before work with a swim in the Hausener outdoor pool and end the workday with a glass of Pinot Gris on the terrace of the 'Café Kubus' in Holzhausen Park with a view of the Holzhausenschlösschen." Stella Friedrich, among others founder of the festival for fashion and designs "Stilblüten"
"My outdoor living room this summer is the "Fein" - an old water cottage that the owner has converted into a café. The free-standing pavilion on the edge of the Eschenheimer Anlage looks like a small island. Garden chairs are set up in front of it, comfortable armchairs, small tables. There are fresh flowers in vases everywhere, and there are even Persian rugs in front of the kiosk. You notice in every detail how much sensitivity and love has gone into the project. Here I can relax wonderfully with an orange-mint sprizz and watch passers-by walking across Petersstrasse towards the city centre." "Leonid Matthias", Sachsenhausen
Since we (Leonid and Matthias) are not far from the Main with our shop and studio, we like to go picnicking at the Main meadows, or sometimes in the evening to the Main cocktail bar. In general, we are drawn to the countryside, such as the Grüneburgpark. For dinner we are drawn to "Maaschanz", which is also around the corner in Sachsenhausen.
