Movie: The Farrelly brothers have struck again. Even if you have succeeded since your mega-hit Crazy for Mary only average successful comedies, they hold on to their brute humor iron. So also with Everything allowed - A week without rules, a relentless Klamauk, in which you are shaken between Fremdschämen and resounding laughter back and forth.

The fun centers on friends Rick (Owen Wilson) and Fred (Jason Sudekis), both of whom are happily married but still controlled by their adolescent sex drives. While physical union rarely happens in their bedrooms at home anymore, the two men's erotic fantasies run rampant. And their wives Maggie (Jenna Fischer) and Grace (Christina Applegate) hardly ever play a leading role in them. But eventually enough is enough for the women and they engage in a daring experiment to save their marriages: they give their husbands a free pass, a week off in which they can do whatever they want. Rick and Fred are convinced that now a dream will come true and they will have a week of continuous sex with the hottest women in town. But the reality looks a little different.

Who already gets red ears at obscene words, which should make a wide berth around All Allowed - A Week Without Rules. Because what is delivered here verbally alone is hard to beat in obscenity. But who knows the films of the Farrellys, knows that the two are not satisfied with that. Once again, the visual gags push the boundaries of good taste - and far beyond. Male genitals in close-up, all sorts of appetizing bodily fluids, which are distributed in an admittedly original way, and much more ensures that the laughter is stuck in the throat many a time.

But as with Crazy for Mary or most recently with After 7 Days - Ausgeflittert, the Brachial brothers always manage to garnish the crude events with charm and heart, so that the collection of vulgar jokes becomes quite a lot of fun. Sure, the whole thing is flat and mostly far below the belt. And in principle, the film is a prime example of mendacity, hiding behind the facade of sex jokes and fecal gags, but an extremely prudish morality, which is served at the end also quite thickly. And yet the film just makes fun.

It is this uninhibited way, with which the Farrellys give their main characters to ridicule, which leads again and again to real laughs. Where other movies of this genre, like the third part of Big Mama`s Haus, come along similarly crude, but always chicken out of the consequences and therefore seem extremely uptight and just stupid, the Farrellys go one step further and are consistent enough to justify their journey into the lower humor regions. This is still a matter of taste, but if you like US comedies of the particularly crude kind, you'll have a lot of fun with this mixture of Hangover and Crazy for Mary. Worth seeing!

The Extendet Version: The longer version of the film, which is exclusive to Blu-ray, runs just under six minutes longer than the theatrical version and is in original English audio with optional subtitles only. There aren't many new gags in the six minutes, rather some scenes are slightly extended, and a few character moments are deepened a bit. So the film does not gain much!

Picture + Sound: The picture already seemed a bit glaringly exposed at times in the cinema, and this can also be observed on the Blu-Ray in some places. Otherwise, however, the image is clean and quite sharp, the coloring harmonious and the black levels coherently mixed. The tonal action takes place primarily in the front area, although in a few moments, especially the scene playing in a club, there is also a certain surround feeling. Good!

Extras: In terms of bonus material, the Blu-Ray disappoints across the board. Only a cut scene (approx. 4 min.) and a barely 2minütiges Gag Reel are to be found, apart from the Extendet Cut, as extra on the disk. That is just for a current production much too little. Too bad.

Conclusion: All Allowed - A Week Without Rules is a no-holds-barred crude comedy that may not be the Farrelly brothers' best work. But if you could laugh at the previous films of the director brothers, you will discover some real howlers here again. Technically, the Blu-Ray is on a good, if not stunning level, the extras, however, are more than disappointing. Nevertheless: for lovers of the brute humor quite recommendable!
