Content: Even if you do not know his films, everyone knows the name: Bruce Lee. But only the fewest might be aware of the influence the actor had on various areas of cultural life. Martial arts, fitness training, the filming of action scenes and even the musical landscape - all of which Lee has influenced and changed with his work.

In the entertaining documentary "How Bruce Lee changed the world" director Steve Webb proves that this thesis is quite true. On the basis of numerous interviews, among others. with Lee's daughter Shannon, who goes on a search for her father in the USA, Europe and finally Asia, but also directors like John Woo, Brett Ratner ("Rush Hour"), Quentin Tarantino and stars like Jackie Chan, who began his career as a stuntman in Lee's films, Cimoc icon Stan Lee, sports legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and musician RZA of the Wu-Tang Clan, the documentary entertainingly traces how groundbreaking Bruce Lee's work actually was.

In addition to the actual footage, this documentary also features old footage from Lee's films, filming, and interviews with the martial arts legend. Admittedly, the whole thing has more of a TV character overall and can't escape a slight superficiality. But the bottom line is that the positive aspects dominate, which make this DVD an absolute must for fans of Bruce Lee. But also all others can risk a look. Because one thing can be promised: it will surprise you, where everywhere the influence of Bruce Lee can be felt. You almost want to believe that he really changed the world...

Picture + Sound: Depending on the source material, the technical quality of the documentary varies. The more recent interviews are in good picture and sound quality, while older film clips, TV interviews and other footage naturally have some flaws. Overall, however, the film offers technically exactly what may be expected from such a documentary.

Extras: On the DVD is unfortunately no bonus material.

Conclusion: "How Bruce Lee changed the world" is an entertaining documentary, which is for fans of the legend due to the many rare interviews and behind-the-scenes footage undoubtedly a clear buy recommendation. Recommendable
