And it is not only about bringing Olaf Schubert's most important concern Romben statt Bomben under the people. He also wants to prepare people for the impending end of the world, since he knows for a fact that it will happen next week on Monday. He tries to talk about sex in a relaxed way and even manages to pronounce the word testicle in a relaxed way. But mathematics, flirting and geography are also on Olaf Schubert's curriculum. And anyone who knows the humorist knows that his views on such topics are anything but ordinary.

Olaf TV is, of course, much more than a simple variation on Schubert's stage program. True, the show is also characterized by Schubert's unique word creations (e.g. Da fliegt die Kuh = Es kommt zum Nutzvieh-Abhub) and his very special sense of humor. But the television format also offers Schubert the opportunity to entertain on another level. In direct interaction with guests, with his trainee Solveig or with the studio audience, Schubert repeatedly hits top form. But also various interludes, in which Olaf Schubert is allowed to prove his acting talent or in which he conducts quite amusing interviews, ensure that the four episodes fly by. And by the way, there is also a real piece of history to see, Olaf Schubert has managed to find the very first sex film ever. And of course he doesn't want to withhold it from his esteemed audience.

Schubert receives a visit in his small headquarters from the group Kraftclub, the Dresden Steam Band and Martin Sonneborn. He has set up a special youth room for young guests, where they are allowed to pass the time (for example, playing with the Hampel-Olaf), while the host lectures on controversial topics. So if you want to learn what the man of the world wears in thirty years, if you want to learn the only real, unvarnished truths about sex, women and the end of the world, if you want to see how Olaf Schubert also cares for marginalized groups and if you simply like TV comedy of the slightly weirder, but of course quite unique kind, you simply can't miss the third season of Olaf TV! Recommendable!

Picture + Sound: The picture of the DVD is very clean and has a decent overall sharpness and a coherent color scheme. The stereo sound is rather unspectacular overall, but allows the voices and music to sound well intelligible and powerful from the speakers. For a small TV show like this, that's perfectly satisfactory. Good!

Extras: As a bonus, there are just under 33 minutes of additional and extended scenes from the four shows of this third season. Contributions such as the country quiz or fortune telling offer fans of Olaf Schubert still quite a few good laughs. Worth seeing!

Conclusion: Olaf TV is so, like Olaf Schubert: weird, unconventional and usually really funny. At the same time, the show is much more than a simple variation of Schubert's stage program. The interaction with the audience and the video contributions make the third season of the show a real must for all fans of the award-winning humorist - especially since there are almost 30 minutes of amusing additional material on the DVD. Therefore: absolutely recommendable for all Olaf Schubert fans and sweater enthusiasts
