Never change a winnig team! That's what Will Ferrell and director Adam McKay thought, and after multiple successful collaborations, they now present another comedy hit with "The Somewhat Different Cops".

New York detectives Allen Gamble (Will Ferrell) and Terry Hoitz (Mark Wahlberg) don't have it easy: while they're mostly relegated to desk duty, go-getters Danson (Dwayne Johnson) and Highsmith (Samuel L. Jackson) get to take constant credit with spectacular arrests. They are heroes, revered and celebrated by more than just their colleagues. Gable and Hoitz are not far from that, but one day they too are offered the opportunity to finally show what they are really made of. That they come across the biggest and most spectacular criminal case in recent New York police history, the slightly different cops do not suspect yet...

"The slightly different Cops" is quite an entertaining mix of corny jokes, crude gags and charming buddy cop comedy. There is not only a lot of food for the diaphragm, also in terms of action the viewer is offered something. The unequal duo of Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg works especially well. Wahlberg, who already proved in "Date Night" that he can be really funny when he plays actually quite exaggerated roles with a certain seriousness, is the perfect counterpart to Ferrell, who here once again routinely gives the role of the lovable jerk.

The film has some nice running gags to offer, such as Allen's inexplicable attraction to attractive women, Michael Keaton as a supervisor who constantly quotes songs by T.L.C. but always vehemently denies it, or Terry's various artistic skills, such as ballet dancing, which he only trained himself to do as a teenager so he could make fun of gay classmates. There are also plenty of amusing verbal exchanges and absurd action interludes. However, Adam McKay, as in his previous comedies, overshoots the mark again and again and often dilutes actually decent jokes to lame Kalauern.

Bottom line can be said that great head cinema certainly looks different, but who is looking for simple entertainment cinema and also accept a few lengths and flat gags, which is well served with "The something else Cops"! Worth seeing
