Content: We use it every day, drink it, even consist largely of it - water! Water is the center of life, and yet we actually know very little about this precious element. The Russian documentary "Water - The Secret Power of Water" now aims to change that. With the help of fascinating footage and interviews with scientists, scholars and clergy, it sheds light on the background to the secret power of water.

Why is water the source of all life? Why does it have healing powers on the one hand, but at the same time is responsible for spreading deadly plagues? Why does the structure of water affect a person's spiritual health? These and many other questions are illuminated through interviews and fascinating images. Not only are very interesting facts presented, but theses are also developed that are sometimes hard to swallow. The main question is whether water has something like a memory and can be influenced by human emotions. It is said that water becomes positively charged when you thank it, for example, and negatively charged when it is insulted. To what extent such studies are believed is up to each viewer. But the fact is that water is full of secrets. One of the interviewed scientists sums it up when he says that the greatest scientific discovery is that we still know next to nothing about water.

Why is it the only element that occurs in all three states of matter, that has the greatest surface tension and is extremely soft on the one hand, but has enormous destructive power on the other? "Water - The Secret Power of Water" is, despite these rather scientific questions, not a purely scientific documentary. Religion, esotericism and history also play a major role here and make the film a multifaceted, exciting contribution to a mystery that accompanies us in every situation in life. Worth seeing!

Picture + Sound: The image quality of the DVD is on a good level and can convince especially in the area of color saturation and overall sharpness. The fact that the sound is only in stereo, is not further disturbing, since here anyway interviews determine the tonal events. Other sound effects, such as the dripping of water that introduces the film, adds some dynamics to the proceedings. Overall, the picture and sound are exactly what can be expected of a documentary. Good!

Extras: There is no bonus material included on the disc.

Conclusion:"Water - The Secret Power of Water" is an entertaining documentary that manages to captivate with lots of great images and important, highly interesting information. Technically, the DVD is on a good level, but has no bonus material to offer. Nevertheless: Also for something "absurd" sounding theses open-minded lovers of documentaries from nature and science this DVD can be warmly recommended
