Happy Birthday! For a little over two and a half decades, the StadtWaldHaus/Fasanerie Information Center has been explaining forests and forestry. On the grounds of the former pheasantry, families, daycare centers and schools learn about foxes, bats or the work of bees. Here it is explained how the "big" is connected with the "small". The StadtWaldHaus has been providing successful environmental education for 26 years. The 25th anniversary celebration last year had to be cancelled due to the Corona pandemic. This will now be made up for: environmental department Rosemarie Heilig invites you to the anniversary celebration 25+1 year in the StadtWaldHaus/Fasanerie on Sunday, 26 September, from 12 to 17 clock.
Together with cooperation partners such as BUND, the association environmental learning, the association bat protection South Hesse and others, the StadtForst offers a varied hands-on program with many program points. For example, there will be demonstration sawing and your own experiments with the hacksaw, climbing to the height of an oak tree, a tarantula keeper will present her "pets" and at the learning and hands-on stations there will be a water construction site, interesting facts about the bat, a forest walk will provide information about the current situation of Frankfurt's urban forest and much more. The game shop will also be open. "From the forest to the plate" is the name of one of the programme items. Here one learns everything about the processing of the hunted game.
