The boy Ali Baba likes to live into the day. Together with his brother Kassim he gives his mother a lot of joy, but also worries. For the two boys love to explore the world together with their best friend Sirin, and adventures and dangers lurk everywhere.
One day Ali Baba makes a fantastic discovery - he observes several shady people, 40 in number, hiding riches in a rocky cave. Thieves! Despite his excitement, Ali Baba is just able to pick up the magic formula that can be used to open the cave: Open Sesame! He wouldn't be a curious boy if he didn't dare to open the rock after the band of robbers had left. And lo and behold: treasure upon treasure lies before him! With pockets full of gold he returns home in the evening. What a lot you can buy with it at the souk, the local market! His mother is unaware of his nightly forays, but it is not long before Kassim becomes jealous of his little brother's "pocket money". When Ali Baba can't give him a plausible explanation for his sudden wealth, Kassim decides to secretly follow him to the cave. But when he tries to open the rock on his own the next day and the band of robbers suddenly returns, events come to a head. A great adventure begins, in which Ali Baba and the girl Sirin must summon all their courage to free Kassim.
