Politicians, flies and pigs - that could be a succinct summary of what the exhibition shows.
Where, of course, there is much more to see from Frank Hoppmann, the master of portrait drawing. Next to the politicians join other public figures such as actors, musicians, athletes, philosophers. Even death has its place. Scurrilous three-dimensional objects and cartoons complement the portrait drawings. In his portraits Frank Hoppmann makes the animal in man visible, his pigs and flies mirror man. In many cases this has an amusing effect, but often it is also disturbing. Frank Hoppmann is an outstanding draughtsman, portraitist, caricaturist, cartoonist and illustrator, whom F. W. Bernstein and Tomi Ungerer appreciated early on as grand masters of this genre. Thérèse Willer, director of the Ungerer Museum in Strasbourg, even called him the "legitimate successor of Tomi Ungerer". Hoppmann's enormous body of work has rightly been recognized with a multitude of awards and exhibitions. Hoppmann's publications include. in Welt am Sonnta, Rolling Stone magazine, Manager Magazins and the satirical magazine Eulenspiegel. Opening Hours:

Wednesday, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
