After two years of forced break due to the pandemic, life and music will be celebrated again in the middle of Darmstadt's city center on the Whitsun weekend from 02 to 05 June. Finally again. The Schlossgrabenfest returns. A gigantic party with live music from more than 60 bands on three live stages and club electro sounds from 10 DJs awaits visitors on Whitsun in the heart of Darmstadt. One thing will be new at Hesse's biggest music festival in 2022: For the first time, there will be classic tickets for the Schlossgrabenfest - it simply won't work without them. But there will be plenty of music. The festival program for the new start could hardly be more varied. As nationally known acts are at the 22. Edition thereby: Belgian pop star MILOW ("Whatever It Takes," "First Day of My Life," "ASAP"), German pop singer ALICE MERTON ("No Roots" and "Why So Serious"), singer-songwriter TIM BENDZKO ("Nur noch kurz die Welt retten," "Hoch"), music legend HOWARD CARPENDALE ("Strangers or Friends." "Hello Again"), singer LOTTE ("Auf das, was da noch kommt"), The hip-hop great NURA, Germany's ESC representative MALIK HARRIS ("Rockstars"), TikTok star 1986ZIG ("Kopf aus"), newcomer LOI from Mannheim ("I Follow") and alternative rockers BLACKOUT PROBLEMS. With this year's lineup, the organizers once again show what musical diversity the Schlossgrabenfest stands for. Schlager meets hip-hop, hard rock, metal, pop, alternative, singer/songwriter and poetry slam. And it is exactly this colorful mix that has always made the Schlossgrabenfest so special. Music for everyone. More than 60% of all bands come from Darmstadt, the region and Hesse. The Schlossgrabenfest thus stands firmly in its tradition of presenting nationally known artists - across all genres - alongside new musical gems. A style-spreading music program, which offers if possible for each taste the suitable. Finally, people in Darmstadt are celebrating, loving, laughing and hugging each other again. Darmstadt's city center will once again be transformed into a temporary festival backdrop on 20,000 square meters with the Merck, Echo, Sparkassen and Entega Club areas - of course, as always, with a wide range of culinary delights on offer at more than 160 stands. There may not be missing with the large reunion party in this year, indeed curiously, but probably suitably, also kölsche Karnevalsmusik.
In this year the organizers leave the carnivalists of the city starting from 14.44 o'clock the MERCK stage for närrische 14x11 minutes. The festival offspring may look forward on Sunday morning again to a free play and fun offer with bouncy castle, face painting and mascots on the Friedensplatz, while at the same time on the Sparkasse stage the gospel service takes place.

Ticket Prices
For the Schlossgrabenfest 2022 there are classic tickets for the first time. There are both
day tickets and a 4-day ticket.
The 1-day ticket costs from € 14.98 in advance. The 4-day ticket costs €37.50 (i.e.
so €9.38/day). (The discounted 4-day ticket for €29.98 is unfortunately already sold out.)
Visitor Capacity
Visitor capacity on each day of the event was more limited compared to previous years to allow more space for everyone to celebrate. In the year 1 after Corona certainly a responsible measure, especially since in recent years repeatedly the visitor admission to the festival had to be stopped due to too large a crowd. This is now a thing of the past. Less crowding, more space and thus quality of stay, better plannability.
FRIZZ Chill&Food Area: The Culinary Offer
The Friedensplatz, which can be fully used again for the first time after the reconstruction, unceremoniously becomes the Chill& Food Area. To the Entrée foyer for the castle moat celebration. Here the common exchange with tasty Street Food, which friends, family and colleagues meet in the focus, far away from the concerts of more than 60 bands, which perform on the three live stages around the castle. In general, the Schlossgrabenfest once again offers a wide range of food and beverages with a variety of culinary delights at more than 160 stands around Darmstadt's Residenzschloss. Bon appetite!
The Darmstadt Wine Festival as a guest at the Schlossgrabenfest
The traditional Darmstadt Wine Festival, which unfortunately could not take place even two years, is this year a guest at the Schlossgrabenfest. In a cooperation with Darmstadt Marketing GmbH, the market square will thus become a large wine village with old and new vintners. This area is located outside the fenced festival area and does not charge admission. A program addition, with which now finally all wine lovers at the Schlossgrabenfest get their money's worth. There will be no stage on the market square. The focus is here without exception on gastronomic offers.
The Volksbank children's time
On Sunday 05.06. from 10:30 - 14:00 VOLKSBANK-KINDERZEIT invites all young festival goers to the Friedensplatz. Bouncy castles * roller slide * game and fun attractions * painting and handicrafts * face painting * visit of mascots awaits the children. The Volksbank children's time is free of charge for all visitors. After that, tickets are needed again to visit the Schlossgrabenfest.
The Schlossgrabenfest cup<./h3>
The annual Schlossgrabenfest cup is still available. All drinks on the festival site will be served in it. From now on, the cup is a deposit cup that can be returned at all participating stands. It does not have to be purchased in addition to the ticket. Of course, the cup may still be taken home as a souvenir to complete the collection. There are three cup motifs in the design of the main sponsor MERCK, on each of which all the top acts are represented. The cup deposit is € 2.00.
The festival site
The area remains the same size in terms of scope and offer visitors on 20 000sqm but more comfort, that is, above all, more space than before. The fenced-in event area, which requires an entrance fee, covers Friedensplatz, Karolinenplatz and the section between Landgraf-Georg-Strasse and Alexanderstrasse. The wine festival on the market square and the area of Ernst-Ludwigs-Platz at the white tower do not charge admission. On the fenced area are the MERCK stage, ECHO stage and Sparkassen stage and the ENTEGA club area.
