For several years, Minsk-based author and Nobel Prize for Literature laureate Svetlana Alexievich traveled through Belarus and Ukraine, talking to people there about the Chernobyl reactor disaster and their lives in the still heavily contaminated areas.
An evening of theater beyond the familiar disaster images - thoughtful, harrowing, surprisingly poetic. At the center, man who forgets, represses, remembers, loves, laughs in the face of a grotesque monstrosity that exceeds any human measure.
