What would the world look like if no one ate meat anymore?

A documentary about the vision of a world without meat that introduces philosophers, scientists, artists and activists who are working on alternatives of coexistence between humans and animals.

In THE END OF MEAT, filmmaker Marc Pierschel ventures into a future without meat and its impact on the environment, animals and ourselves. In the process, he meets Esther, a pet pig who turned the lives of two Canadians completely upside down, talks to the pioneers of the vegan revolution in Germany, visits the first vegetarian city in India, encounters rescued "farm animals" in freedom, meets scientists* researching animal-free meat that is set to revolutionize the 600 billion global meat market, and much more.

The End of Meat powerfully reveals the hidden effects of meat consumption, explores the benefits of a plant-based diet, and raises critical questions about the future role of animals in our society.

The End of Meat. Marc Pierschel, Germany 2017, 96 min, no age restriction.
