"The new man sing' ich" .The play of nature with manifold individual expressions even within one species corresponds socio-politically to democracy in its endeavour to shape the rules of solidarity and coexistence in such a way that the individual is granted a maximum of freedom to discover himself in his diversity. Today, even states with a democracy that is thought to be firmly established show strong tendencies toward autocracy and despotism. Freedom in times of terrorist acts is seen as a potential danger. In the reflection on the texts and their staging in the theatre Willy Praml it is the attempt in the theatre re-reading to pursue the imposition of one's own freedom and that of the other in their strangeness.

Discussants:
Dr. Lisa Straßberger, literary scholar
Dr. Stefan Scholz, theologian
Willy Praml and the ensemble of Theater Willy Praml
