Faber is not one to sing about life without having lived at all. That's what makes his debut album, "Be a Faber in the Wind," so worthwhile.
The musician and songwriter, born Jimmy Ragusa 23 years ago, is of Italian descent but grew up in Zurich. Around the age of 15 he starts writing his own songs. He financed his first EP with crowdfunding, followed by a second one a year later. For the now released album "Sei ein Faber im Wind" he finally goes to the legendary Hansa Studios in Berlin with producer Tim Tautorat.
On the result of these recordings "Sei ein Faber im Wind" is always about absolutely everything and somehow also about nothing, because sometimes everything can be so wonderfully indifferent. We hear trombones and guitars and violins and a piano and, most of all, we hear this voice. Faber sings his songs with a tremendous furor and maximum abandon. He's just 23, but sounds and writes like a 50-year-old - and young olds are, of course, the best olds we have.
