The first rays of spring sunshine delight not only people, but also the plants. And that's why the Palmengarten is once again setting the mood for the coming garden and balcony season in the first days of spring: The GREEN EXCHANGE aims to entice visitors outdoors and offer ideas for planting flower beds and balcony boxes. The focus of the event will be on the sale of plant rarities, but of course also on expert advice. The BioFrankfurt association with Frankfurt Green City and partners will be providing information in a nature conservation exhibition on the theme "Dare more nature - A city in climate change". The Association of German Orchid Farms will be offering cultivars for sale. At the Plant Rarities Exchange, breeders and specialist nurseries will be waiting with a large selection of native and exotic plants. Plant rarities are attracting more and more attention in private gardens, on terraces and balconies. In spring, when the plant world awakens from hibernation, the Palmengarten presents visitors with a rarity exchange of exotic, rare and special plants. Experienced gardeners and specialist breeders offer their treasures of the plant world for sale and provide advice on the keeping and care of the selected rarities. The diverse plant species and varieties originate, for example, from the Alpine or Mediterranean regions, show themselves in special scent or colour combinations or are native plants that are particularly robust and easy to care for. Old cultivars from various parts of the world will be on offer, which are now collectors' items and real rarities and have been cultivated according to traditional gardening and breeding rules. An indispensable part of the Green Bourse has long been the orchid exhibition, which attracts enthusiastic amateur gardeners and orchid lovers every year. The diversity of this plant family, from which a large number of varieties and hybrids are bred, is particularly attractive. In addition, there is the StadtLandWildnis exhibition on the three days of the Green Bourse, where around 17 organisations present their projects relating to nature conservation and biodiversity. Bird walks, face painting for children, guided tours or even a quiz and a rose pruning course are also on the programme.
