With Halloween we usually associate creepy carved pumpkins, witches and monsters. But at the Gibson Club, a whole different set of symbols await you: Skeletons made of sugar, Monarch butterflies and marigolds. Why? Because here, with the "Día de los muertos" (or: The Day of the Dead), celebrated in Mexico and South America, in contrast to Halloween not the death, but the life efeiert.
The tradition dates back to the Aztecs, Mayans, and Toltecs, who commemorated their deceased children and ancestors on Día de los Muertos, while also honoring the cycle of life.
Today, people still celebrate exuberantly, dance and sacrifice to the ancestors on this special holiday.
And this colorful celebration is also coming to Frankfurt in 2017. At the Gibson Club, the "Día de los muertos" will be celebrated with you with authentic decorations, appropriately dressed staff and of course plenty of candy.
The quite lively ear candy of the night will be provided by the one and only OLEN, flanked by the in every respect heavyweight DJ and producer duo Banks & Rawdriguez - who among other things. as official remixers & producers for Xavier Naidoo (also the hit single "Ich brauche Dich" goes on their account) or Cassandra Steen and also as tour support for Lil' Wayne 3 years ago already did a great job.
