In 1991, Chechnya declares independence from Russia. From then on, there is war. This, and the resulting decline of humanity on both sides, becomes the specialty of Anna Politkovskaya, a Russian journalist. She talks to child soldiers, clashes with Russian officers, argues with ministers loyal to Moscow, negotiates with Chechen rebels - and has to experience her failure in the Dubrovka hostage crisis and her complicity in the "cleansing" of Chechen civilians. And because she refuses to be used as a mouthpiece for the Party, Anna Politkovskaya is interrogated, beaten, tortured and almost poisoned. Because she is one of the "uncorrectable". On October 7, 2006, Anna Politkovskaya is shot dead in front of her apartment.
With his play, written shortly after Politkovskaya's murder in an act of outrage, author Massini takes the audience through the journalistic life of this uneducable woman in a flashy way. Director Kathrin Herm, together with her team, attempts to approach this woman, her story, these experiences that one can only truly comprehend if one has experienced them oneself.
