The style, the pigeonhole became too narrow for him and no longer offered him the opportunities to tell what he wanted to get off his chest. That's why a change was needed, a skinning, a rebirth. Left Boy made a rock album. Yes, a rock album. Not your average old white dude rock album. But by his own standards. Of course it's still pop, of course it's still rap - but most of all it's rock. After years of sample madness and a healthy "been there - done that" attitude, Ferdinand decided to move on and after a long search suddenly discovered the guitar for himself. The guitar as a new challenge - the oldest instrument in rock history, suddenly as a fresh new tool. And, boy, does he go wild! Left Boy's new album is also a walk through the different possibilities and styles: Classic Rock, AC/DC style, Glam Rock, Country - you name it. Ferdinand was there before you. But it's not about a simple recreation of the styles and possibilities. That would be far too little and too simple for a complete artist like Ferdinand. He takes the styles apart, looks at their fragments and puts them together again, into something new. This definitely still breathes the spirit of his origins, but still has that surprising unpredictability that only Left Boy's pop has.
