Trust is now more important than eroticism in relationships. These days, I don't care where or with whom my wife goes out at night, as long as I don't have to accompany her. My current favourite position? Lying on the sofa - with my feet up. And no doubt I'm still good in bed - I stay on my side, fall asleep instantly and don't snore!
But it's not quite that simple for us men after all. Because the demise of the alpha male in the family takes place just as ruthlessly as it does in nature: the teenage son is quicker to the bathroom in the morning, quicker to the fridge at lunchtime and quicker to the remote control in the evening. No wonder when the "good mood bear" mutates into the stuffy "silverback". Hope might be offered by a penis enlargement and a Viagra therapy. And if that doesn't work either, you can always stroke your i-Phone for comfort.
But wait: The battle isn't over yet. We're too young to be old already! We just don't know exactly where we stand in the no man's land between teenager and retiree. We are experiencing a second puberty, only this time without pimples, but with prostate stress. We're partying, but with earplugs. We're free-climbing, but with a disc harness. We're freestyling for the colonoscopy. We're making a new free life for ourselves - but only with withdrawal insurance!
