Making music, surfing, saving the world: For the Australian Xavier Rudd, this is not mutually exclusive, because for him, everything belongs together on the vast globe of the earth, everything interlocks. The multi-instrumentalist takes to the stage to tell people about his vision. He sings about freedom and peaceful coexistence, he draws attention to the social grievances of the indigenous people. He talks about the beauty of our planet and how important it is to preserve it and live in harmony with nature. In his songs, folk, reggae, rock and world music flow seamlessly into a good-humoured, infectious whole, playfully switching between guitar, stomp box, didgeridoo, Hammond organ or harmonica. His cosmopolitan music and spectacular live shows regularly sell out concerts in Australia and Canada. With his latest album "Storm Boy" in his luggage, he will finally make the leap across the pond again this summer and delight his local fan base with his rousing concerts. Supporting him on stage will be multi-instrumentalist Tay Oskee, also from Australia.
The chill festival courtyard at the Carree Piazza is a great place to start the evening from 6pm. Loungers and cushions invite you to sip a tasty drink from our outdoor bar, DJ Sonix will set the musical mood for the evening.
