Just a few weeks ago the guys around frontman Tim McIlrath were in Europe to present their long-awaited, eighth studio album "Wolves" live at exclusive club shows in Berlin and London and already the next good news follows: RISE AGAINST will come to Germany for five shows as part of their European tour in November.

For 18 years, the Chicago punk rock band has been steadfastly pointing in the politically correct direction, using their international punk platform to advocate for social justice. However, in light of today's political climate, RISE AGAINST has been forced to rethink their previous approach and question how they actually define themselves.

The impact that the U.S. presidential election has had on RISE AGAINST can clearly be seen in songs such as. "Walls" ("the monsters lost in history are now making their return") and "Welcome to the Breakdown" ("ignoring the facts, intoxicated by the throne"). "Wolves" was shaped by the new presidency, but does not limit itself to that theme. Rather, this record simply spreads the basic spirit of resistance and optimism that transcends our current crisis and will outlast any politician.

"In many ways, a Rise-Against show is a sure thing for our fans," says lead singer and guitarist Tim McIlrath. "But I realized that I don't just want to provide comfort zones; I want to create a threatening scenario where there's no room for misogyny or xenophobia. I want to create environments in which these tendencies simply can't get any air and they suffocate; they simply die. "Wolves, then, is not about 'safe waters' but a dangerous trap for injustice."
