London-born pianist Sam Hogarth has performed at many of his hometown's best-known venues (including.including The Pizza Express Jazz Club, The Vortex Jazz Club and Smollensky's) but also the legendary Smalls in New York and various jazz clubs in Germany. With his trio plus two of the most sought-after musicians from the regional scene, Andreas Neubauer (drums) and Bastian Weinig (double bass), he plays his unique arrangements of standards and rarities from the Great American Songbook, as well as original compositions and sometimes pieces from the operetta repertoire that flow into his piano playing from his other life as an opera conductor.
This evening's guest is the young singer Louis Grote, who gained his first international experience with the Bundesjazzorchester and has since initiated his own projects. As a bonus, there will be one or the other vocal duet
