Love has light and dark, redemptive and destructive faces. Eight true stories tell of this in Elisabeth Pfister's book "Nevertheless: LOVE". A young woman with a strict atheist upbringing tells how love for God hit her out of the blue, whereupon she entered a convent of the strictest observance and became a nun. The story also tells of a man who lived in a virtually symbiotic relationship with his wife for 35 years, then one day, seemingly abruptly, took up a rifle and shot her dead.
Author Elisabeth Pfister tells with distance and great empathy of the wondrous, idiosyncratic, and shocking ways that love can go.
