Timo von Eicken's works carry a quiet urgency. Like seismographs of social upheavals, they depict not only what is visible, but also what lies behind it - the tectonic shifts of our present. There is a palpable apocalyptic mood in his pictures, but it never tips over into the purely apocalyptic. Rather, they reveal a world in turmoil, in transition, in a constant struggle for orientation.
