On the weekend of 3. And 4 September, the first day of transport history since 2019 will take place; because of redevelopment of a museum hall in the transport museum Schwanheim this time in the old Eckenheimer depot.
In the halls and on the extensive outdoor area with 26 tracks, the Frankfurt Transport Company (VGF) and the Historical Tram Frankfurt (HSF) association offer a large, varied and interesting range of events around local transport in Frankfurt:

Special exhibition "On the road in Frankfurt: Then Today and Tomorrow" in Halls 1 and 2 with informative posters, exhibits, vehicles and other exhibits

Operation of historic subway trains between the main station and Eckenheimer Depot, with streetcars between Louisa and Eckenheimer Depot and buses between Eckenheimer Depot and the Feldbahnmuseum in Rebstock, each every 30 minutes
The event is on Saturday, 3., and Sunday, September 4, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and admission is free. To use the historic trains and buses, a valid ticket is sufficient.
The special exhibition "On the road in Frankfurt: then, now and tomorrow" is on display until the end of September: from Thursday, 8. September, to Friday, September 30, always on Thursdays and Fridays from 3 to 7 p.m. and on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.. Admission remains free, and tours can be requested from HSF at hsf-ffm.de.
Feldbahnmuseum
The Frankfurt Field Railway Museum also traditionally participates in the Day of Transport History. On Saturday, 3, and Sunday, 4 September, between 11 and 17 o'clock the old-timer meeting takes place. The museum's own steam and diesel trains will run through Rebstock Park as needed. The exhibition in Hall 2 and on the open-air grounds will be open.
