From March 7 to 31, the Hessian capital will once again become an interdisciplinary venue for the crime genre during the "Wiesbadener KrimiMärz 2019". Under the motto "Im Netz" (In the Net), the festival will be dedicated to the main topic of organized crime in readings, talks, films and more.
Director of Culture Axel Imholz is looking forward to an exciting program that promises to provide deep insights into the underground of our society: "The fight against organized crime is one of the biggest hot topics for politics, the judiciary and the security authorities. Yet uncovering such structures and crimes is increasingly complicated in a globalised and digitalised world. The KrimiMärz therefore takes up an important topic and I look forward to interesting discussions and readings with crime writers and experts." New this year, he said, is that Darmstadt has also taken up this theme at the "Darmstädter Krimitage" (Darmstadt Crime Days) at the end of March. "Such cooperations are fruitful for the discussion of content and enliven the exchange between the cities in the Rhine-Main region," says Imholz. He added that the regional bridge-building was possible thanks to the support of the Kulturfonds Frankfurt RheinMain. There will also be a "speed reading" of Wiesbaden and Darmstadt crime writers in both cities.
