10-minute guarantee: payout now also at the DB Travel Centre at the main station

Train delays are unfortunately not uncommon. Especially commuters pay a lot of money to get to and from work every day. So delays or train cancellations are of course extremely annoying. At least there is the RMV's 10-minute guarantee: In case of delays of more than 10 minutes, the full fare is refunded for single tickets up to a maximum of six euros in 2nd class and eight euros in 1st class. For season tickets such as monthly and annual passes, the fare is refunded on a pro-rata basis, depending on the fare stage. Refunds can be made for as little as 50 cents. As an alternative to fare reimbursement, taxi fares of up to 25 euros can be paid after 9 pm.

Whoever wants to make use of this 10-minute guarantee of the RMV can now also have the amounts incurred paid out at the Deutsche Bahn travel centre at the main station. With this new contact point, RMV wants to be even closer to its customers and give passengers passing through the station the opportunity to collect their refund without having to make a detour through the city centre.

In the city center, the mobility center Verkehrsinsel traffiQ at Hauptwache and the TicketCenter of VGF on the B-level of Hauptwache station, among others, offer the service; there are also additional points of contact on the B-level of Konstablerwache and Bornheim stations.

Applications for the 10-minute guarantee can be made online within seven days of the delayed journey. Once processed, the money will be refunded upon presentation of the original tickets at selected RMV Mobility Centres and RMV sales outlets. Customers have three months to collect the refund amounts, allowing them to collect the amounts for multiple guarantee cases.
