Already 100,000 guests at the Bundesbank's Money Museum

Just under two years after the reopening of the Bundesbank's Money Museum, the 100,000th guest was welcomed to the exhibition. This was the second time the museum visitor had been to the redesigned Money Museum. "The 100,000 visitor mark demonstrates the success of the Money Museum as a modern place of learning and experience," said Burkhard Balz, the member of the Bundesbank's Executive Board responsible for this area.

The multimedia exhibition takes visitors on a tour through the four subject areas of cash, book money, monetary policy and money global. In everyday situations such as a staged supermarket or a replica bank branch, visitors are informed about the work of central banks, the importance of stable prices or payment transactions. Guests can look at each topic on the basis of the present or on the basis of history. A special feature of the Money Museum is a 12.5-kilogram gold bar from the Bundesbank's inventory, which can be held in the hand. Another highlight of the exhibition is the Money Cabinet, which uses outstanding museum pieces to tell the story of money from the beginnings of coinage to the present day.

The museum is located at the site of the Bundesbank's headquarters at Wilhelm-Epstein-Strasse 14, 60431 Frankfurt am Main. The exhibition is open from Sunday to Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Admission is free. The museum is barrier-free. (Text Source: Deutsche Bundesbank)
