For many, it is still an insider tip: The Botanical Garden, which is located between Grüneburgpark and Palmengarten. For those who would like to finally discover this beautiful place or simply visit it again, Saturday, May 14, is recommended. Because then from 9 to 16 o'clock the day of the Botanical garden takes place. The main theme this time is "Biodiversity in gardens and on roofs".
Four guided tours are offered, where you can learn a lot of interesting things about different aspects of the garden and gardening: "Diversity in the home garden - what is possible even on a small area?", "Beekeeping in the Botanical Garden", "Decorative strategists - contrasting garden plants" and "Native plants for green roofs" are the titles of the tours.
A small plant exchange will be set up in the service yard, and sculptor Achim Ripperger will be working live on a new large wooden sculpture. There will be food and drinks, coffee and cake and a bookstall with gardening and botanical literature. At various booths you can learn about native wild plants for the home garden, ecological green roofs with native plants and about bamboo, at the exhibition "Neue Wilde" of the Association of Botanical Gardens you will meet all kinds of "newcomers to the plant kingdom".
