(kus) It is 64 kilometers long and leads once around Frankfurt. Since 1992 it invites you to explore the green oases, forests, rivers and lakes of Frankfurt by pedal. The route is marked on the GrünGürtel leisure map. But even after 25 years, the GrünGürtel cycle path still has something new to offer - you can now experience it digitally.
On behalf of the Frankfurt am Main Environmental Agency, the ADFC Frankfurt cycled the circular route and had a video camera running. The raw footage from the film was used to create a total of ten clips of sections of the cycle path. The clips are between 17 and 23 minutes long and deliberately without sound. Those who only want to get a brief impression of the bike tour can also watch a four-minute summary.
"We want to offer citizens a special service with the videos," says Peter Dommermuth, head of the environmental office. "The films show the beauty of the GrünGürtel and give a good impression of the landscapes through which the cycle circuit leads. In addition, they also facilitate orientation in some places."
Although the cycle path can now be experienced comfortably from the sofa. However, it should not stop there. "Rather, we want to use the videos to whet people's appetites for cycling in the GrünGürtel," stresses Peter Dommermuth.
The films can be viewed on the Youtube channel of the City of Frankfurt am Main. It can be reached at <link http: www.grüngürtel.de _blank>
