The concert and event industry is slowly but unerringly regaining its old form - even if normality is still quite a way off. After a break of almost two years, concerts and shows are taking place again and concert halls are filling up again. So it's a good time to bring back one of the industry's most important awards, too: On June 22, 2022, the LEA - Live Entertainment Award ceremony will take place for the now 15th time in Frankfurt's Festhalle. After the gala could not take place two years in a row, the event industry will now finally be given the big stage again. Numerous prominent guests from all areas of the cultural industry are expected in Frankfurt.
"However, there is only limited cause for a boundless celebration mood as in previous years in the industry," explains the LEA initiator and executive producer of the award gala, Prof. Jens Michow. "Due to still inconsistent general conditions and a cautious buying behavior of the public, the industry is unfortunately still far away from a return to normality. But we are of course delighted that things can finally get going again, look forward to a promising festival summer and promise many great concerts in the coming months."
The LEA awards ceremony on June 22 is intended to set an example for this new beginning. "It's not just about showing that we still exist, but with the awards we want to honor those colleagues who, in a difficult time, have ensured through innovative concepts and ideas that live events still somehow took place," says Michow, who is also executive president of the Bundesverband der Konzert- und Veranstaltungswirtschaft (BDKV) e.V. is.

For the honor of the organizer of the year, the LEA jury of experts has thereby set the focus on outstanding creativity. The evaluation period is the two Corona years 2020 and 2021. In addition to special promoter achievements, awards will also be presented for Hall/Arena Tour, Festival, Concert and Show of the Year, as well as Young Talent Promotion, Artist Manager/Agent and Cooperation of the Year. In view of the exceptional circumstances in the period considered for the awards, some newly tailored categories have been introduced. These include the Industry Alliance of the Year as well as the Artist Alliance of the Year and, in addition, the Most Creative En Suite Event. The LEA Jury Award and the Lifetime Achievement Award round out LEA 2022.
