Renewed evacuation in Seckbach: defusing of world war bomb interrupted

During construction work at the Riederwald tunnel in Seckbach, a world war bomb was found, which was to be defused yesterday night. For this, about 1400 citizens had to leave their homes already on Tuesday evening. Unfortunately, the explosive ordnance disposal service was unable to successfully defuse the bomb. Special tools are needed to defuse the 50kg bomb, so there will be a second attempt tonight. For those affected in the evacuation zone, this means they will be allowed back into their homes for the time being, but will have to leave the evacuation zone again from 6pm tonight.

The evacuation is expected to be completed by 9pm so that defusing can begin at 11pm. The evacuation radius is expected to remain unchanged. As yesterday, the "Volkshaus Enkheim" hall at Borsigallee 40, 60386 Frankfurt am Main, and the Pestalozzischule school at Hänischstraße, 60386 Frankfurt am Main, are available as care centres. The citizens' telephone 212-111 remains in operation.

People with limited mobility can register there or via <link https: survey123.arcgis.com share _blank>Registration form on the homepage of the fire department for transport to a care facility.
