Switch and track construction: lines 14 and 18 interrupted

From Monday, 6 August, there will be route interruptions of tram lines 14 and 18 in Sachsenhausen. The reason for this is switch construction work at the Lokalbahnhof and parallel track construction work in Dreieichstraße. Until Saturday, 25 August, also the start of operations, the lines will therefore not run between Südbahnhof and Allerheiligentor (line 14) and Börneplatz/Stoltzestraße and Lokalbahnhof and Offenbach Stadtgrenze (line 18).

During this time, line 14 will run between Louisa Bahnhof and Südbahnhof, while VGF is setting up a joint line 14/18 between Ernst-May-Platz, Börneplatz/Stoltzestraße and Gravensteiner Platz.

Alternatives with S-Bahn, bus and tram

Between Konstablerwache as well as Ostendstraße and Südbahnhof, the S-Bahn lines S3 to S6 running via Lokalbahnhof can be used. From Konstablerwache, bus lines 30 or 36 can be taken in the direction of Lokalbahnhof. Offenbach Stadtgrenze can be reached with lines 15 or 16.

Also the Ebbel-Ex has to be diverted during this time, the traditional train runs between Hauptbahnhof and Zoo via Altstadt during the timetable times - and thus not through Sachsenhausen.

The RMV service telephone at 069/24248024, which is available around the clock, also provides information about the best travel option.

As an additional mobility option, the company Byke, in cooperation with VGF and traffiQ, provides rental bicycles at every stop between Allerheiligentor and Südbahnhof. By means of voucher codes attached to the signs at the stops, the bikes can be used free of charge for two free rides daily à 20 minutes. This is a pilot project. Rental bikes will be provided at these stops: South Station, Bridge/Textor Street, Local Station/Textor Street, Local Station, Frankensteiner Platz, Hospital zum heiligen Geist and Allerheiligentor.
