The new OSCAR®-NIGHT at the DFF - Dresscode: No Dresscode!

On 09 February it is that time again. Then the Academy Awards - better known as OSCAR - will be presented in Los Angeles for the 92nd time. Movie fans around the world will be rooting to see if the favorite "Joker" (11 nominations) will be the night's big contender, if "Parasite" will make OSCAR history or if Sam Mendes' World War II drama "1917" (10 nominations) will be named Best Picture. Or maybe the Netflix film "The Irishman" (also 10 nominations) will make it all the way to the podium?

As in every year, the awards will of course be televised in Germany. If you don't want to enjoy the show alone on your couch at home, you'll once again have the opportunity to experience Oscar® Night at the DFF cinema in 2020! (Admission 10 p.m.) From pajamas to evening wear, this year's Oscar® Night at the DFF is themed "Dresscode: No Dresscode!" When the glamorous parade down the red carpet begins in Hollywood, the focus at Frankfurt's Museumsufer is on relaxed get-togethers among like-minded people. And that has a lot more to offer besides the actual award ceremony:

10 pm to approx. 2 p.m.: Oscar® prediction game

10:30 p.m.: 2020 Oscar®-nominated shorts

A selection of the 2020 nominated shorts promises to be the first great cinematic moments in the short format, kicking off the race for the golden trophies. Don't forget to submit your film tip!
