The Vinyl Bar Opens at the Music Library

New Service for Old Records

Modern technology is really something fine. But there are some things you just can't improve. The warm sound of an LP, that crackling when you put the needle on the record - simply incomparable. At least that's how vinyl lovers see it. Many still have real treasures at home that cannot be replaced by CDs or digital downloads. To digitize these favorite pieces, is possible from 27.02. in the music library, Hasengasse 4. Because then opens here the vinyl bar, a great service for all who love records.

In the library are now two record players with digital recorders. Here, patrons can burn the LPs or singles they bring with them to CD or save them to a USB stick. What should be planned thereby absolutely: Digitizing takes just as long as playing the records. To shorten the wait, the library offers borrowable headphones. That way, your favorite music or audio book is in your ear at the same time.

The Vinyl Bar can be visited during the opening hours of the music library: Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. To avoid too long a wait, the free digitising service is limited to two records a day per visitor.

There's more: an introduction to the new service and help with digitising is available at regular workshops. The first will be held on Thursday, March 2, from 5:30 to 6:30 pm. More dates at <link http: www.stadtbuecherei.frankfurt.de _blank>
