Trams south of the Main interrupted for a week

Substitute bus service is in place

Those who travel by tram in Frankfurt will have to be prepared for some inconvenience in the coming week. Because due to track construction work in Paul-Ehrlich-Strasse, the tram lines 12, 15, 19, 20 and 21 from Monday, August 26, about 2 o'clock, to Sunday, September 1, about 3 o'clock, south of the Main do not run or only on partial routes. On two routes, a rail replacement service (SEV) with buses will be set up.

12 and 15 will be linked

After the work currently taking place in Niederrad, tram line 12 will initially resume regular service from Friday, August 23. However, from Monday, 26 August, there will be no journeys between Stresemannallee/Gartenstraße and the University Hospital. Two SEV lines will bridge the interrupted section of the route.

Line 15 will not run between Stresemannallee/Gartenstraße and Haardtwaldplatz during the aforementioned period and will be replaced here by SEV line 1.

Coming from Fechenheim, the trains of line 12 run as usual to Stresemannallee/Gartenstraße, from where they then run as line 15 to Südbahnhof or to the Offenbach city limits.

Lines 19 and 20 are canceled, 21 with unusual destination

The tram lines 19 and 20 do not run. The line 21 does not go to the stadium, but from Stresemannallee/Gartenstraße via Stresemannallee to Louisa Bahnhof. Up to the station Oberforsthaus operates the SEV line 2.

Establishment of a rail replacement service with buses

SEV 1: The SEV line 1 runs from Stresemannallee/Gartenstraße via Universitätsklinikum and Niederräder Landstraße to Haardtwaldplatz.

SEV 2: SEV line 2 runs daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. between Stresemannallee/Gartenstraße, Universitätsklinikum, Triftstraße and Oberforsthaus.

Not all SEV stops are in the immediate vicinity of the tram stops. On site, a route guide is attached.

S-Bahns and buses as an alternative

traffiQ and VGF recommend their passengers to also use the alternative travel options in Frankfurt's dense public transport network. Between Hauptbahnhof and Niederrad Bahnhof and Hauptbahnhof, the S-Bahn lines S7, S8 and S9 are ideal. Bus lines 61 and 78 start at Südbahnhof and travel to Niederräder Landstraße and on via Oberforsthaus to the airport (line 61) or via Niederrad office district to Schwanheim (line 78).

Soccer fans beware

Due to work, there will be no trams to the stadium on Thursday, August 29. Passengers who want to go to the Europa League qualifying match at the Commerzbank Arena are asked to use the S-Bahn lines S7, S8 and S9. Particularly recommended are the S-Bahn trains, which additionally depart from tracks 20 to 23 in the main concourse. Furthermore, selected trips of the regional train line RE70 additionally stop at the stadium.

The service telephone provides information

The timetable information at http://www.rmv-frankfurt.de takes the changed timetable into account. Information on the best travel option can also be obtained from the RMV service telephone on 069/24248024, which is available around the clock.
