Final TRAVEL STOP FOR MOTOR VEHICLES to W:O:A 2023
Due to the ongoing difficult weather conditions and the heavy rainfalls of the last 24 hours, the Wacken Open Air (W:O:A) regrettably has to impose a final travel stop for motor vehicles of all kinds. The safety and care of festival-goers are paramount, which is why the decision has been made not to allow any more vehicles onto the campsite and event areas.
The vehicles that are currently already in the immediate vicinity of the festival at the "Holy Ground" will continue to be accessed on site and accommodated at the "Holy Ground".
However, the organizers appeal to all visitors in motor vehicles to cancel their trip to Wacken or not to start at all, in order to support the security measures and not to put additional strain on the resources on site. This travel ban will be in effect until the end of the festival.
The persistent rainfall has severely impacted the camping areas, event areas and access roads and it is no longer guaranteed that motor vehicles will be able to access the site without compromising safety and supplies.
The W:O:A deeply regrets having to make this difficult decision for the first time in its history. The organizers are currently working on solutions for the festival visitors who are affected by this situation. Information on how to deal with the tickets will be published soon.
