200 DJs and live acts from over 20 countries and over 130,000 enthusiastic visitors (over 40.000 on average per day) from 52 nations caused the stadium to quake - a new visitor record!
The overcast sky could not spoil the mood on Friday when it started at 16:30 on the main stage in the stadium. Fans could see the DJs by helicopter on their arrival and even superstars like David Guetta were fan-friendly and in a good mood in view of the enthusiastic welcome. When Armin van Buuren hung up at 19:45 at the latest, the stadium was full and David Guetta made it dance completely before the festival weekend was officially heralded with the Grand Opening Show.
On Saturday not only the sun was shining, also the fans came in droves in the morning. Besides the Mainstage there were also the small stages on the stadium circuit, the big Q-Dance Stage in front of the stadium and some more. New this year was the stage at the Stadionbad, where you could refresh yourself in the small pool with more relaxed sounds. Anyone who got confused with the variety of stages could always be sent in the right direction by the very nice and helpful team at the information stand. It was also very praiseworthy that fans were not allowed to wait without info. When Steve Aoki was still stuck at the airport, an announcement came immediately and there was a program until he showed up with only a short delay and then immediately caused the stadium to quake with the first sounds.
Whoever needed a break or refreshment in between found a large selection of food trucks and drink stands on the lawn in front of the stadium. From french fries to vegan burgers to waffles there was something for everyone again.
On Sunday it went on with a full program before the World Club Dome 2016 ended with the set of Hardwell and the Grand Closing Show.
