++ Notes on the traffic situation this weekend ++

The 40th Mainova Frankfurt Marathon 2023 starts tomorrow, 29.10.2023 at 10.00 am with the first race field. The relay marathon will start at 10.35 am, followed by the mini marathon at 10.55 am. The start for all participants will be at Friedrich-Ebert-Anlage and the finish will be at the Frankfurt Festhalle on the exhibition grounds.

From 5 a.m. to 8 p.m., temporary road closures for vehicle traffic will be in place in the districts of Sachsenhausen, Niederrad, Goldstein, Schwanheim, Nied, Höchst, Gallus and the city center. This may cause significant traffic delays, so please plan for longer travel times and detours. Please also note that time shifts may occur due to dismantling and cleaning work on the barriers.

On the same day, the Bundesliga match between Eintracht Frankfurt and Borussia Dortmund will take place at 15:30. The closures on the southern bank of the Main due to the marathon are expected to be lifted around 2:00 pm. Nevertheless, you should as a visitor to the soccer match in the vicinity of Deutsche Bank Park traffic disruptions to calculate.

In order not to overload public traffic and to ensure the safety of runners, the Frankfurt am Main police appeal to all road users to follow detour signs, traffic closures and the instructions of traffic assistants, stewards and police officers absolutely.

On the day of the event, a citizens' telephone is available on +49 69 7575-41700 / -41701 from 07:30 to 16:30 to provide information about current closures.

Due to the limited availability of many streetcar and bus lines during the event, subway and suburban trains in the city area should be used. The RMV has also set up a service telephone for information at +49 69 24248024.
